Alok Bhatnagar (born 28 January 1953, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh) is a respected educationist, administrator, and social worker dedicated to serving education, society, and humanity.
He is the Founder and Chairman of the Umalok Group of Institutions in Meerut and has also served as a professor at Garhwal University. From 2003 to 2013, he was Chief Warden of the Civil Defence Corps and received the President’s medal for Meritorious Social Services.
He has also been honored with awards such as U.P. Ratna, Meerut Ratna, and the Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship. Beyond education, he has been active in social and cultural spheres, serving as District Governor of Lions Club International (321-C1) and Multiple Council Secretary.
He is associated with the Red Cross Society, INTACH, various clubs, and the District Cricket Association. He is also engaged in cultural and religious activities as President of the Ramleela Committee (Surajkund), lifelong member of Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, and patron of Shri Ram Sankirtan Sabha.
In his student days, he excelled in sports, representing his college and university in cricket, badminton, and chess. His travels to countries such as the USA, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Dubai, Thailand, Azerbaijan, and Vietnam have given him a global outlook. Philanthropy is another defining aspect of his life: he sponsors the education of ten students every year (including tuition for five girls), provides aid to blood cancer patients, and supports community services like Apni Rasoi. Known for his humility, dedication, and service spirit, Alok Bhatnagar is recognized as an inspirational figure not only in Meerut but across society.
